Online Review:

"Josh Cellars never fails to impress, and their 2021 Pinot Noir from Central Coast is no exception. This wine is both charming and assertive and exhibits layers of red berries, plum, and a whisper of earthy undertones. The palate balances the bright acidity and subtle oak influence, creating a symphony of flavors that dance gracefully, urging for another sip. While many Pinot Noirs from the region boast of their elegance, this particular vintage carries a touch of rustic charm, reminiscent of the sprawling Central Coast vineyards from where it hails. At its price point, it offers remarkable value and is bound to be a crowd-pleaser, whether you’re a seasoned oenophile or a casual wine enthusiast. Highly recommended for those seeking a taste of Central Coast in a glass. Cheers to another successful creation by Josh Cellars!"

Wine Folly:

Pg. 150 - Pinot Noir in general - The world's most popular light-bodied red wine and this is my first experience with Pinot Noir. The Pinot Noir is known for being one of the more versatile red wines for food pairings due to its high acidity and lower amounts of tannins. It's usually paired with chicken, mushrooms, and pork. Pinot noir is known to taste of cherries, raspberry, and a bit of vanilla. The vanilla tastes are usually due to the type of barrel it resides in.

My Review:

This was my first Pinot Noir and I liked it a lot! Josh is apparently known to be good for their reds so I wanted to give the Pinot Noir a shot after having a rough time with their white wines. It was a very light wine, it had a soft mouthfeel and was certainly acidic. Due to these qualities, it dried my mouth out a lot. It likely would've been better had it been paired with food, but I drank it on its own. It was more earthy than I thought it would be, it was certainly a unique take on Pinot Noir from the usual descriptions of the wine which was cool to taste and experience. I liked the wine a lot and would certainly have it again. (8.1/10)
