Store Review:
"Cense 2018 Sauvignon Blanc is a light and refreshing wine from Marlborough, New Zealand, offering vibrant citrus flavors of lemon, lime, kiwi, and grapefruit. With crisp acidity and only 85 calories per serving, it’s an excellent choice for those looking for a lower-calorie wine without sacrificing taste. The wine's 9.6% ABV makes it approachable and easy to enjoy, especially on warm days. It's bright and zesty profile pairs well with salads, seafood, and light appetizers. Overall, Cense delivers a pleasant and guilt-free sipping experience."
Wine Folly:
Pg. 165 - Sauvignon Blanc, especially from New Zealand, can be known to be very pungent and aromatic. It has a lot of tropical fruits, the Cense 2018 vintage in particular has a grassy and green pepper taste to it. So it takes a typically tropical wine and gives a more spring flavoring. Sauvignons should be eaten with Asian food and with light meats and salty cheeses. It's highly acidic with little sweetness and little body.
My Review:
This is my first review of Sauvignon Blanc since one of my first three reviews in the class, where I had a Barefoot Sauvignon Blanc. Since having more dry white wines, I would say I came around to Sauvignon Blanc a lot more with the Cense 2018. They kind of have a sour taste to them that work well with a lot of the meals I eat. I paired it with Thai food and it was really solid. It definitely contained the tropical properties it mentioned. I thought I got hints of honeydew and grapefruit in it as well. There was little body to it and it was very acidic. I really enjoy white wines and this one was no exception from that feeling. (8.5/10)
